The stowaway...
Took a car to Kontagora yesterday morning - but caught it from the roadside rather than the motorpark. Turns out the union guys dont like that. So while we were all standing about waiting for the car to fill, a union chap from the local motorpark commandeered the front seat. I guess the logic is clear - hit the driver where it hurts, in his wallet. By taking up a seat, the driver earns less money.
Well yeah, that would be logical. Except of course, thats not what happens. So now instead of 2 people sharing the front seat, there are 3. Yep, 3 people plus the driver in the front of the car, 4 in the back and 1 in the boot (... to boot).
After much incomprehensible Hausa argument and stopping the car several times to try to get the stowaway to drop, he eventually came to his senses about 30 mins into the journey. Making it marginally more comfortable (well, for everyone except the poor sod in the boot).
